Affinity:   The magical realm that one has leanings toward and is potentially capable of learning.

Banshee   An enraged disturbed spirit with the capability to vocalize that rage into deafening and deadly screams.

Cabalism:   One of the three Corridors of Fate / Magical Realms. Cabalism's primary areas of power are Alteration, Conjuring, Summoning, Banishing, Healing and Necromancy.

Chronicle, The Heleneton (Hellington):   A newspaper of some minor infamy in Heleneton...

Crossed (or Crosser)   Someone who has crossed the Veil into Hellington.

Drain (ing):   The lowering of another's statistics (energy, essence, etc.) as a harmful attack, and potentially as a method to increase one's own statistics (at least temporarily). Most undead and other Netherworld creatures are capable of draining. Some spells or other effects also provide this ability.

Essence:   The life energy of a soul. Essence is also a "commodity" in Hellington.

Feeder:   A derogatory name for sorcerers. Their powers can be great, but they must be careful as they can feed the very darkness they fight.

Gestalt:   The ability to combine and merge mana to power greater spell effects. Group spell casting can increase the effectiveness of the delivery of a spell.

Ghoul:   A vampiric abomination. When vampires first came to be, so came the ghouls. Ghouls are those who underwent the transformation and did not come through it "quite right". In some cases, they are vampires who were altered by others. Ghouls feed on the flesh of the living and the dead.

Heleneton:   Founded (the town of...) in 1898 by Samuel Paxton. The "common" name for Hellington is the only name for which 99% of the population knows their city as. Heleneton was named after the founder's wife, Helene Paxton. After his death, in memorium to Mr. Paxton, the county name was changed as well. (see county map)

Hellington:   The name for which those "in the know" refer to Heleneton. Much of the population are average citizenry, however, those who have been touched by the veil, see and understand far more of the truth about the city.

Hellsteeth Mines:   Way back many years ago, the mines were "The Heleneton Mines", however, one miner swore he saw Hell open up like a jaw in front of him and that the heat from the opening must have been from hell...An oddity was found afterwards that some say supported the miner's story. Several solid chunk of lava rock were found...in the shape of teeth...the name stuck...     (see map of the "Hellsteeth Mines")

Jank (common/colloquial):  Any negative connotation you can think of.
Alternate Spelling - Janque (the correct spelling for flashy trend setters and the elite)

Librarium, The:   Hellington's community library. (also one of the chat rooms)

Ling's Soup Kitchen:   Hellington's support shelter for the homeless. The soup kitchen is run by the Ling family. (also one of the chat rooms)

Manson Park:   Hellington's "City Park". (also one of the chat "rooms")

Noel College:   Noel College is a small urban city college. It is named for its founder, Jacob Noel.

Nube:   A new player to the game. A "newbie". (Everyone is new at some point, don't sweat it!)

Paint:   Blood. “It looks like he rolled in the paint.”

Realm:   Realms are areas of magic falling under Wicca, Cabalism, or Sorcery. Magical Realms are also called "Corridors of Fate". Each of the realms share some common abilities, however each also has marked differences from the other.

Riverside Drive-In:   State of the art Drive In Theatre, specializing in the nostalgic return to an older viewing experience.

Shade:   A "living" shadow. The power of these creatures varies. Shades feed on Living "Essence".

Shaded Temptations:   Hellington's major bar/nightclub. (also one of the chat rooms)

Shroom:   To provide someone with bad information (crap), keep them uninformed (in the dark), and keep checking on them to see if they actually can come up with a good idea (see if any "mushrooms" grow). “That jerk thinks he can shroom me!” (past tense is shroomed)

Smack Down Therapy:  Beating the hell out of someone, until they agree with you.
"The Hellington Police Department is rumored to employ several specialists in this field."

Sorcery:   One of the three Corridors of Fate / Magical Realms. Sorcery's primary areas are Enchantment, Charming, Illusion, Invocation and Evocation. Minor Fields include Protection, Divination, Summoning, Banishing. Sorcery is powerful and males or females can have affinity, however, Sorcery does feed the darkness in Hellington somewhat. This being the case, a Sorcerer/ess must gauge the use of their power more so than a Witch or Cabalist. This linkage to darkness is balanced by their extensive fields, major and minor.

Splatter Girl (or "Boy") :   Someone who dies in a fashion where more blood is outside of his or her body than in it. A very messy death. “If she doesn’t shut up, she’s gonna be the city’s newest splatter girl.”

Transient:   A homeless person, vagrant, or bum. Also a reference to those new citizens who arrive in Hellington through crossing the veil.

Vampire:   A Drainer. Vampires can drain in several different manners and do not drain blood only. Essence can be drained by physical contact, be it a bite or simple touch. Draining without touch, but in close proximity is also possible. Vampires are immortal, however they are unaffected by sunlight and other classic "story" methods of turning/killing.

Veil:   A doorway into or out of Hellington.
Note: Doorways into Hellington are many and varied. The chances that one can even find their path out is slim to nonexistent.

Veiled:   A Crosser (someone who is Crossed) who no longer has any potential of finding their way out of Hellington...until "the time" comes anyway...Being a Crosser is very close to being Veiled already, but not quite - as the neglible chance does exist for a crosser to potentially leave.

Wild Child:   One who pursues the gaining and use of additional wild talents, beyond those granted by crossing the veil.

Wild Talent:   Psychic / Magical powers those who cross the veil receive as a result of the changes they experience in the crossing.

Witchcraft:   One of the three Corridors of Fate / Magical Realms. Witchcraft's primary areas of power are Creation, Divination, Protection, Banishing and Elemental. Minor fields include Summoning and Healing.

Wolverines, The Noel:   Both, Noel College's Basketball and Football teams are highly respected. Coached by Rod Caspem, Kevin Lambert is the all-star Quarterback for the football team and Coach Vick Jimmers is leading his basketball team to new heights.
